If customers have a specific need for other versions we can make those available individually, otherwise we'd like new customers to start off with the most stable/relevant releases.

We don't actually stipulate where the environment variables should be set, this is generally left up to each individual studio. Ultimately using the system environment variables is best as Maya.env only sets the Maya local environment and the rendering extensions may/may not use this.

Are you sure there aren't any additional errors about a license not being available? This sounds like the Yeti plugin isn't loading/loaded and/or it's unable to find a license. You've put your pgYetiMaya.mod in the Maya modules directory, but it should be in the Yeti directory as you're setting MAYA...

BTW - just a gentle reminder that as you're using a Trial license you shouldn't be using it for production sensitive work.

Have you tried using the full path vs. the relative path for the VRAY_FOR_MAYA2019_PLUGINS variable?

Do you have a Texture Reference object created in the rest position on the input geo?
