cache explosion

Hi guys, When I cache my hair out and bring it back in, I get some frames where it freaks out like crazy. I deformed the guide curves driving the hair, and it looks fine live, but the cache is nuts, and samples makes no difference. It displays fine in viewport, but when I click update viewport while...

Re: parting in yeti 3.7.2

Hi,

I looked into the example file but I guess I am trying to get parting to work without a groom, but using guide curves.
How could I implement the part_tag in a groom driven by guide curves?

Re: parting in yeti 3.7.2

Thanks Colin, I don't know how I could have missed that part of the documentation.
I will give it a shot.

parting in yeti 3.7.2

Hi guys,

I looked through some older topics to try and find out what the best method of parting a groom would be, but the posts I found are quite old.

Is there a good way to deal with parting in hair grooms that I could use with the 2021 version of yeti?

blend feathers

Hi guys,

I am trying to find a way to blend between two different feathers. Is it even possible?
If I created two different feathers and wanted yeti to create variations of those two by blending the values of the two "master feathers", could I do that?
Houdini can do it, but can Yeti?

Re: instance to replace geo

Haha, thanks.
When I see Matt I will, he's in film though, I don't have that much influence. :-)

instance to replace geo

Hi guys, If I wanted to first animate geo feathers and then replace them later with yeti feathers, how would I best go about wrapping my yeti feather around a deforming geo-plane? Also, is there a good way to controll the length or shape of a yeti feather using a guide or geo plane as a guide? Bjorn

Re: Explicitely placing strands

If I used a yeti feather, how could I instance it very specifically if I wanted it placed along the length of a wing?
Meaning not randomly across the surface.

Re: Explicitely placing strands

In relation to the first question, would it then be possible to place the instance at exactly the point specified in the groom meaning not clusters around the groom strand but just one instanced object per strand?
